What's New @ LTLShip.com?
CARRIERS CLOSED FRIDAY FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY

All of our carriers will be taking the Independence Day holiday this Friday, July 3, as the 4th of July is on a Saturday this year. Our offices will be closed, as well.

We wish all of you and your families a very safe and happy Fourth of July.

ROADWAY AND YELLOW BECOME YRC
Beginning March 2, 2009, Roadway Express and Yellow Transportation will serve customers as YRC, Inc. This will involve a few minor changes for our customers:

  • If you are currently using Roadway Express or Yellow Transportation in the LTL Rater, the carrier name and logo will change to YRC, Inc.
  • When scheduling pickups, the driver and truck may be marked with the Roadway Express, Yellow Transportation, or the new YRC, Inc. logo.
  • YRC, Inc. shipments will have a YRC, Inc. pro number. The use of Roadway Express or Yellow Transportation pro numbers will no longer be acceptable.

ELECTRONIC SED FILINGS NOW MANDATORY

The US Census Bureau Shipper’s Export Declaration (SED) has long been required for all freight shipped overseas whose value exceeds $2500.

For our customers, this will affect only shipments to Puerto Rico; freight with a Canadian or Mexican destination goes by truck, not ship.

The Census Bureau now requires that export declarations be filed electronically. This can be done by the shipper through the Automated Export Systems AES Direct website. Customers using Yellow or Roadway can file a letter of authorization with Yellow and/or Roadway, as appropriate, and the carrier will file the SED for a $25 fee per shipment. The letter of authorization must be submitted on the shipper’s letterhead.

For exported shipments that do not require a SED, the Bill of Lading should note: “Value less than $2500 per schedule B. NO SED/AES required."

LOSS AND DAMAGE CLAIMS
Cerasis will file loss and damage claims for both Cerasis direct and Private Label customers.

Please review the
Cerasis claim help system for requirements and tips on submitting claims. The claim guide can also be accessed from the LTLRater directly; see "Cerasis Claim Form" under Reports/Misc Functions from the lefthand navigation bar of the LTLRater. Please call Curt Hannula at (800) 734-5351 ext. 123 with any questions.

GUARANTEED LTL SHIPMENTS
When scheduling a pick-up for a guaranteed delivery please advise the dispatcher that you are requesting this service and also inform the driver upon their arrival. Certain carriers will have the driver affix a special label to the Bill of Lading, so follow the driver’s instructions if that is applicable. Failure to follow the instructions will result in your shipment not being guaranteed. Please contact us with any questions
